CAPS Event

The Cards and Payment Symposium (CAPS)

CAPS is a free annual event that provides Cards and Payment industry professionals with the opportunity to share ideas and learn from the experiences of others within their industry.

It also recognises some of the outstanding achievements occurring in the Australian and New Zealand Cards and Payment industry.

The event includes:

  • Presentations from Card and Payment industry experts
  • Presentations from the top 3 outstanding achievers for the Card Smart Award
  • Announcement and presentation of the Card Smart Award
  • A social lunch with industry peers

It is held in Melbourne in January from 10am to 3pm on the Thursday of the first week of the Australian Open tennis tournament. Registration is from 9.30am.

Why call it a symposium?

Well in ancient Greece this meant entertainment characterised by drinking, music and intellectual discussion.

2007 CAPS

The next annual Cards and Payment Symposium will be held on Thursday 18 January 2007 in Melbourne.

2005

CAPS attracted an audience representing 22 card related companies at the Melbourne Business School on Thursday 20 January 2005.

Presentations from cards industry experts and the top 3 outstanding achievers for the 2004 Card Smart Award included:

  • 'GFG takes on the big boys' - Wayne Robinson, Managing Director, GFG Group

These were followed by the presentation of the 2004 Card Smart Award trophy to GFG Group and a scrumptious gourmet BBQ lunch.
